This is a follow-up to #386, to further implement more parts of the redesign.

Design

Figma design:
https://www.figma.com/design/1JTNtYo9memgW7vV6d0ygq/Zulip-Mobile?node-id=5966-176661&m=dev

  • The "pinned" icon in the design is a possible feature that doesn't exist yet (May 2025), we will skip that for now. (The design shows the topic visibility icon in both the space before topic label and after it, we will need to resolve that first.)

Related issues

The following issues are for redesign of pages that look similar, so there is potentially some value to reuse code to handle things like the unread-count badge, topic-items, etc.

Hi team 👋

I recently started exploring Zulip’s Flutter codebase and would love to contribute to this issue: #1527 (InboxPage: Implement redesign).

I’ve reviewed the Figma designs and the issue description carefully. I understand that the "pinned" icon is to be skipped for now and that the topic visibility icon placement needs clarification.

I’m also thinking of implementing this in a modular way, considering potential reuse for elements like unread badges and topic items (as mentioned in related issues like #1406 and #1158).

Could I take this issue and start working on it? Would appreciate any guidance if needed.

Thanks!
