Store does not show in the commerce section #604
Comments
You need to give store permissions on the |
This absolutely needs to be added to the documentation here: https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-commerce/13.latest/getting-started/umbraco-configuration. I've wasted time, troubleshooting... again, sigh. |
Sorry for any wasted time here. I’ve just checked the docs and I agree I think this could be improved. We do kind of have something here https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-commerce/14.latest/reference/stores but it does seem like we should have some here https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-commerce/14.latest/getting-started/umbraco-configuration We are actually on with a bunch of docs improvements right now as we are aware we are lacking in some basic “getting started” guides so I’ll make sure this issue gets covered in these works. Apologies again, but thanks for bringing it to our attention. |
Accepted, thanks for the quick reply! |
One thing I have noticed we do, the blue “help center” box displayed in the commerce section if there are no stores to display yet does outline the next steps. Is there something we can do there also to make that clearer? |
I have to admit I didn't get what that said. To start with I would change the title from "Help Center" to "Troubleshooting", that would better get my attention. Further, change the text to. : "If you don't see your store(s) on the left, then you also need to be given access to the store(s) in the Settings." or similar. Finally, link to the documentation page which has more detailed instructions. |
This makes sense, thank you! This fixed the issue. I did read that message and try and update it but I was right clicking the store in the settings section (which doesn't open the store settings) and just completely missed the permissions bit. I think that was just a user issue and me being silly! Although I suppose there is a small chance that people might have the same issues, so it would definitely be helpful in the set up documentation, potentially with some screenshots. |
Closing this issue but have created a docs issue here umbraco/UmbracoDocs#6867 |
