Cannot create flashcards "for unknown reason"

I just installed the plugin, I tried making a test flashcard and it worked fine, but when I deleted that test Anki deck and tried creating new flashcards again, it's stopped working. It creates the new deck defined in properties, and according to the debug log it even finds the cards to add, but then it says (plugin:flashcards-obsidian:8621 ['cannot create note for unknown reason']) - I even tried the main_166.zip fix. Does anyone know what could be up?

I tried this just using one flashcard again like I had the first time and the issue persisted - it wasn't just adding new flashcards that caused the issue. I even tried reinstalling AnkiConnect and regranting permissions, and making sure all of the plugin settings were on.
