The thing is, this allows people to spam you with notifications.

but well you can still create a public call and put that link on the website. If someone joins the call there, you should receive a notification on your ios/android phone/browser.

Well, but then the new person can read the old conversation. Thought of a support use-case, and in this there should be new 1:1 conversations being opened.

Otherwise for low traffic websites the easiest solution would be to have an option if old messages are gonna be readable to new participants.

About the spam, that's true, maybe you need to do some spam-check before on the website. An e-mail send link check link by nextcloud would be nice, but isn't necessary in my opinion.

It should also be possible to have people waiting in the lobby now that the lobby-feature was added

I think this idea could also be used to be integrated within Nextcloud it self:

In this forum post which seems to address a similar issue, I wrote:

I could not yet figure out how to create a link to a talk conversation with me (the admin), that is private and one-to-one but usable for all users.
I think in combination with the dashboard and the welcome widget (where they suggest the above idea) it would be nice to be able to create a link to one support person, or the support team (witch could be a group of users).

edit: I was unsure if it was feasible to create a new issue for this idea / answer

edit: I now know that within the settings of the welcome dasboard extension you can specify a contact. And i figured out that you can generate a link to a private conversation between logged in users with a link like this:
https://myexamplecloud.com/index.php/apps/spreed/?callUser=JohnDoe

Similar to issue #4103. I don't think email verification is needed here; just a quick and dirty captcha would be fine to reduce spam.
