Perhaps one solution is to use a Console Port on the slave, and a Console Server Port on the master. This isn't exactly accurate, but it does at least have an option for RJ-11. |

This weirdly sounds like a use case for virtual chassis. VC is typically used to model switch stacks but it sounds like the concept applies here as well: You have multiple physical independent devices that are managed as one. |

I have a bunch of Servertech PDUs which offer network control, but only half of them have Ethernet ports. They are installed as pairs, so the other units are linked to the "master" by an RJ-11 cable.
I use Netbox to track power connections so that our automation can reboot devices when they are stuck. So I'm trying to figure out how to model this. To reboot an outlet on the "master" PDU, I send the commands to its Primary IP with the outlet number. To reboot an outlet on the "slave" PDU, I need to know the Primary IP of its master unit.
I could use a custom object field to store this relationship but is there a better way?
Actually these units can support up to 3 slaves daisy chained from 1 master. Although we always deploy them in pairs - 2 vertical strips in each rack.
