What's the problem

Today Amazon EKS supports running pods on AWS Fargate in 8 regions: Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, Dublin, Frankfurt, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo

The solution

EKS will support Fargate in all global regions where EKS and Fargate are generally available.

Hi Everyone,

We're excited to announce that EKS/Fargate is now available in four additional global regions: Frankfurt (eu-central-1), Oregon (us-west-2), Singapore (ap-southeast-1), and Sydney (ap-southeast-2).

This means that you can use Fargate to run your Kubernetes containers managed by Amazon EKS in 8 global AWS regions:

  1. Virginia (us-east-1)
  2. Ohio (us-east-2)
  3. Oregon (us-west-2)
  4. Ireland (eu-west-1)
  5. Frankfurt (eu-central-1)
  6. Singapore (ap-southeast-1)
  7. Sydney (ap-southeast-2)
  8. Tokyo (ap-northeast-1)

We're working to bring EKS/Fargate support to all global AWS regions where EKS and Fargate are available and will keep this ticket open until that time.
